when medium opens you can see this kind of homepage and here click on sign in so signing in on medium is not that difficult you just need to sign in using google or facebook or any other options available on the website and after signing in you can see this kind of page appears here all the medium articles by other writers are shown here and all the writers you are following are shown on this side and below you can follow some topics and here are some trending medium articles which are currently going on and below there are some more articles you can search for a particular topic from here save your medium articles here check your notifications from here and this is how medium page appears after signing up so if you are new to medium and if you want to start writing on it you need to go to your profile and you can see
writer story stories statistics and all these kind of options so you need to go on write a story and click on it after clicking on it this kind of screen appears where title is written and below that you have to start writing a story so you click on so when you click on write a story this kind of screen appears where title is basically at the top and below that you have to start writing a story so for example we will write here this is and below this you can start writing your story so basically here two options are hidden from which first is kicker and second is subheading so to make them appear in your article you have to enter your text and you have to select that whole text and click on this small t so it will appear in the form of the subtitle or subheading and if you want to
add kicker it is basically added at the top of the title so click on your title and write your text here and again select the whole text and click on the small t so in this vector card appears and now whatever text you want to enter in the article just write it below the subtitle so when you write a text here you can just add a bunch of formatting options to it like if you want to make a text bold you can do that if you want to apply it alex you can do that and if you want to add certain type of link to your text you can even do that also so we will try all that kind of options here and to do that you need to select the text on which you want to apply that formatting options and just simply apply it by
formatting menus shown about the text so if you want to make a text board you can click on b and if you want to make a text in the form of italics you can do that by clicking on small i and if you want to add links so click on this chain kind of icon and just simply put your link here you need to copy paste it or you can write it manually so if i will add some link like it will draw an underline under that text so by moving forward seeing the next formatting options you can see this big t which will basically make your text in the form of
subheading like if you are writing some articles like five ways to improve your vocabulary or five must books for 2021 so you can use this tool like like you can explain your article in the form of different subheadings by explaining the separate points on separate subheadings and you can use this small t by making that text in the form of small text like it will still be a subheading but it will appear in the form of small text and next is the quotes option where you will make your text look like a quote so when you will click on that it will simply make this text in the form of code and if you will again click on that it will change the style of that option so you can use this tool to show different types of quotes in your articles or to make certain type of text stand out in
your article so these were the basic formatting options and if you want to add more formatting options you need to go on the next block and you can see this plus icon here so when you will click on that you can add images to your article from your computer or you can search some image on unsplash or you can add some video or you can embed something like your twitter thread or your video or google maps any kind of thing and even you can create some kind of partitioning an article so these were all the things that you need to know before writing on medium and when you will finish all of your article you just simply need to click on this three dots and you can change the image which appears on your article from here like you need to click on change
featured image and simply you can choose from another image or if you want to change your title or subtitle you can even do that by clicking on change display title or subtitle and there are some other bunch of options like add to publication so whenever click on add to publication here bunch of obligation will appear which have already accepted you and if you don’t belong to some kind of publication you can individually publish your article and if you want
to be a part of obligation then tell me in the comment box below i will make a separate video on that so you can select some publication from here and you can select and continue and when you will come on this page you can physically see bunch of options like personally i will suggest you all to go on to these options and try them personally it will help you to understand them
